CBD TOPICALS ARE CLASSIFIED ACCORDING
TO THEIR BASE AND FORMULATION:
CBD SALVES
CBD Salves are created by combining a wax base, herbs, and essential oils. What makes CBD Salves unique is that they do not contain any water in the base. The wax acts as a natural preservative, and because CBD Salves contain no water, they last a long time and have a great shelf life.
CBD CREAMS
CBD Creams are usually thicker and contains a base made up of approximately 50 percent oil and 50 percent water. Because they are thicker, CBD Creams are usually sold in a jar.
CBD LOTIONS
CBD Lotions are similar to CBD creams; however, a CBD Lotion is often a less viscous (thick) formulation due to the lower concentration of oil. CBD Lotions are easily applied to the skin and are often sold in a pump bottle.
CBD BALMS
CBD Balms are similar to CBD Salves in that they are normally water-free, and formulated using wax or oil. Because it does not contain water, a CBD Balm will have a more solid consistency.
CBD OINTMENTS
CBD Ointments are made up of approximately 80 percent oil and 20 percent water. CBD Ointments feel sticky or wax-like and often contain higher concentrations of potency. CBD ointments are best suited for application to a smaller area or a more specific area.
